This qualification is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required to successfully lead a team.

This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of the key principles of information, advice or guidance and applying these within their own context. This qualification is suitable for those working or looking to work in a range of roles where the provision of information, advice or guidance is a requirement

This qualification will focus on the study of mental health and mental well-being to support different occupational areas, and offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge and understanding. The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to understand mental health legislation, services, and public attitudes and how these have evolved, how to support mental well-being through various stages of life, mental ill health, treatment options available, and the potential consequences of mental ill health, the skills required to work in a mental health service.

Sector-based work academy programme (SWAPs) is an opportunity to learn new skills and get experience of working in a particular industry, for example care, construction or warehouse work. The programme is designed to help jobseekers, who are claiming either Universal Credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), to build confidence, improve job prospects and enhance CVs. SWAPs last up to six weeks, and consist of three parts. Pre-employment training – a short module of vocational training run by a local college or training provider, work experience with an employer in the industry, where you can learn new skills on the job, at the end of the programme, either a job interview with an employer in the sector or if an interview cannot be offered, help with the application process.

The purpose of this qualification is to allow learners to demonstrate understanding of and competency in digital literacy skills. It will help learners progress to a work role where digital literacy skills are required.

The course equips learners with an introductory level of knowledge and understanding in relation to mental health issues. Learners will look at what mental health means, the effects mental health can have on individuals and on society, the current responses to mental health and the relationship between cultural diversity and mental health issues.

Functional Skills qualifications are key to building foundations for learners to progress into their specialist skillsets. These subjects are a vital part of the entry/exit requirement for vocational study, apprenticeships and traineeships. Positioned as an alternative to the GCSE route, Functional Skills offer learners a vocational pathway into English and maths with the flexibility to sit their assessment all year round.
